Walking through this area the other day, we quite literally stopped in our tracks in front of the Artisan bar, because the ambiance inside was so effervescent and inviting. We were tempted to stop and have a drink before our appointment in the same district. To say that this South of Pigalle Triangle is “heavingly” hip would be an understatement. It confirms to us that Paris, in so many ways, is truly, madly deeply, BACK. Having done our homework, we realized that this newly established bar/cocktail and gorgeously decorated haven for « coordinated » snacks from 19h to 02h (but not Mondays), has been hugely successful from day one. This might be because of the original choice of cocktails & punches, the huge bar with quiet tables at the back; bay windows barely separating the clientele from the passers by; sip sip sipping away on wonderfully named cocktails such as Burbon peach smash or Rosemarys baby or perhaps its because of the delicious meals including Bruschetta of tomatoes, confit of lamb and incredible combinations of different meats and cheeses with beetroot, figs etc…. (The sinfully good dessert menu cannot be pronounced without salivating), however, the success of the Artisan might just be due to the founding boys having already established the « Maison Mere » and so they are highly experienced with having a monster success on their hands. We know where we will be spending most of the party season. See you there.
